I bought this to get rid of the smell of pet urine on our carpet. Our dog hits this spot regularly and it only becomes noticeable after a few baths. I've tried different carpet cleaning chemicals including pre-treating but the urine smell is still there. I decided to try this product and I didn't expect it to smell like this. It can be overwhelming for people who are sensitive to smells, but this stuff smells like Febreze throughout the house. I've only applied it to a small area a few times while continuing to wash until mostly clear and then rinsing with clean water until clear. I didn't really notice it at first but I went outside to get something and then I went back inside and the smell was so lovely. I was a good 20 feet from where I applied it and he met me at the front door. I must have lost my sensitivity to it when I washed the carpet, but when I went outside and came back I smelled it straight away. I would definitely recommend it if you're trying to clean and deodorize carpets as it masks the pleasant smell. I have to be specific here. This worked well to remove most of the smell right off the carpet where it wasn't even a few feet away, but when I get closer to the dirty carpet, about 6 inches away, the smell is there, but not as strong as it is. was before washing. I think there is a better way to get rid of the smell but it probably involves pre-treating, washing and drying. I really think this is a great product that not only cleans the carpet but also leaves a pleasant scent for at least 24 hours. Ideal for those trying to sell their home or expecting visitors and want to leave a pleasant scent in the air. I would advise against using this product for anyone with odor sensitivity as this is very common.
