I like it, but not for everyone

If you absolutely need a sliding gate, then this is a worthy option. I'm glad to have it, although I think it has a number of limiting factors that don't suit every buyer's needs. maybe not even for most buyers. The main issue for me is twofold: it only unfolds on the right side (which can make opening and closing certain spots weird), and the product is designed to attach to hardwood on either side (I have it on attached to drywall and will hold it as far as it is, but they specifically stated that it's not designed for drywall and I suspect it won't take much abuse to get out of the wall). some other problems here too. This is not the easiest problem to fix. Not bad either, just takes a few seconds longer than I'd prefer. The locking mechanism is also a bit confusing (push and turn clockwise to lock, turn counterclockwise to unlock). Even when closed the material still has some unwanted creases/stretches so you'll have to lay it all the way down to the floor to prevent a child from squeezing under it (and you probably have baseboards to prevent that). Deformation). Melody). There are creases in the fabric that haven't come out of my gate yet. And the mounts extend 1-2 inches into the joint space on each side (that doesn't even include the wheel itself). At this point you are probably thinking that my rating sounds more negative than 3 stars. But I honestly don't think it's a bad product; only defective. And there are reasons why these errors might not even matter to many users or can be easily overlooked. In the end, there's still something to love about this thing. First, it can reach almost 6 feet in width. It blends in very well with the white wall and packs away like a charm. The handle on the gate is nice to the touch, as are the gauge strips provided (for easy installation). The fabric of the gate will be extremely difficult to break. And I understand that you can completely remove the gate wheel with a simple push of a button (useful when you need a few extra inches to move furniture etc). The price is on par with most retractable gates, so I didn't consider that an important factor in this review. And I would recommend that most people stick with push gates; as they require no structural attachments to the walls when it comes time to abandon the gate. If you are in need of a retractable device and understand the pros and cons that I have covered here, then I assure you that it is not a bad investment. The product will definitely last a long time. It's just a matter of making sure that what you attach it to can withstand later loads.
