Perfect fit for Stanley door

While painting a steel clad wood door that was over 20 years old I decided to redo the trim. The old comes out easily, including a couple of protruding staples on the ends. Choosing a new door seemed difficult at first. Recording the door width was easy; In this case 32 inches. Matching the two cuts on the bottom of the door was also easy. Just measure accurately; in this case 7/8" OC or 0.875". If the profile view of a new squeegee doesn't list a distance of 0.87 or 0.88 inches, it doesn't fit my door. It was perfect. Later, while painting, I finally found a very light STANLEY embossing on the side of the bar, about a third below the tip. At the time it was just a confirmation. After removing the old reamer, the new reamer fitted perfectly. Thumb pressure was enough for assembly. There was no sagging or sagging, so I didn't bother with any mechanical fasteners. The door was raised on saw blades for painting, so access to the bottom edge was easy. Depending on where the door hangs, this swap could be done without disassembling the door if you can accurately measure the distance between the slots. Revane asked three questions about this door: 1. Is it easy to install? 5 Stars. piece of cake.2. Adhesion? I go with 5 stars. This is just a mechanical connection of the pins in the cuts. There is no glue and it is not needed. It was a solid landing.3. Strength? 5 Stars. Seems pretty strong. Should easily last ten years without damage from foreign objects. Hope this is helpful. All the best.
