With the first and every subsequent drop of water that had time to dry on its surface, it began to get dirty and lose its appearance. This discoloration around the knob is not due to calcium, but rather the copper plating visible through the "brushed nickel" finish. Drops every time my husband washes his hands. That's all it takes to ruin the ending. Don't polish it dry after using the faucet. The surface of the handle will wear out within a few weeks, and it's a sink faucet only, not a high-traffic area. My kitchen accessories lasted three years longer and still look great. Another thing is that the water hose and weight are chunky. The tube sounds like a massive zipper closing and the weight makes a clinking sound. Instead, they're fine, they're just poorly designed and made from inferior materials. Aside from the issues that make me hate this faucet every day since I bought it, it works quite well. It doesn't leak. Flow/spray option works fine. I would not recommend this faucet if you don't want it irritating and embarrassing you on a daily basis.
