It's not a $500 dampener but WAY better than you would expect for such a low price. It is well made and durable. It can be 70% as good as an expensive dampener for 10% of the price. This is really what most non-competitive riders need. It only has 35mm of travel. Rebound adjustment is adjustable from "none" to just enough to keep the bike from wobbling. The preload has a very wide adjustment range. Fit and finish are excellent. I would say it is very suitable for casual riders. One more thing. The sleeve can be removed with a press or a mandrel and hammer. If you do this, the ends will be 14mm wide. You can then cut the bushings to the size you want and reinstall them. It can be fitted into a space with a width of 14 to 50 mm. It comes with a socket, but you need to provide your own M8 size bolt and lock nut. I don't give these five characteristics because it's the best shock absorber. It's not, but because it's a five star value and something to go for if you're on a budget.
