Review on High-Quality BUD Industries CH 14403 Aluminum Chassis: Optimal Construction and Design by Jason Dinh

Poor workmanship for home storage and organization

This is the second one I've bought (second shame on me)! Thought the first was probably a QC Error (who does this on purpose) - but the second is the same (ordered a month apart) The edges of the front panel are roughly cut and sharp - so with a little sanding and putty you can make it more reliable and look better The chassis simply folds into position - no welds or screws to stiffen it - I think there should be something in the cover holding the chassis together (weak) It doesn't come with a cover so add that to the cost (You have a choice of two - solid and vented for an additional $18 each.) The price is high for what you're getting, if you still have to work on it, get it done (I welded the rear corners together to make it sturdier) - Just tired of the poor build quality you get today - Companies don't seem to care about their reputation It's hard to solid-bottom a rackmount chassis of this size to find, so it's probably the best you can get - just something to think about before you buy!

Pros
  • For use with a 19" wide rack
Cons
  • Hard to tell
