At first I thought they would fit. We installed them after a mother and her children died in a fire where there was no smoke detector and when we checked we found we were missing too! There is no installation problem and the test button beeped. However when we tested the one we installed with real smoke, which I've read is good to do, when tested again this alarm did NOTHING, whereas the older existing First Alert model willingly sounded the alarm when first tested. Luckily we have 30 days to return a loan. I WILL WAIT FOR THE FIRST WARNING, Thank you! BAD for any company selling DEFECTIVE smoke/fire alarms!
