My wife hates huge traditional smoke alarms and I found these. Very easy to use and comes with all mounting hardware. The test button is easily accessible. Very invisible on walls and ceilings.

Tested to work properly. Some installation difficulties, since the assembly tolerances are so small that they do not leave space for installation on a wall that is not perfectly flat. Doesn't stick to the base. I had to be creative to attach it to the wall.

This is exactly what I needed and a lot smaller than I expected. They are also 1/3 cheaper than the competition. One of them was tested within days of installation when our oven overheated. Filled the first floor with smoke. They are so small I taped them with double sided tape. The only downside is that they are not as loud as a regular detector.

We bought three sets and installed them right away. Several times we've expected them to work when the kitchen is smoking from cooking or the grill is cooking and the smoke is drawn into the house. After never shutting down, some decided to try the test button again. It worked fine. So he took off the next one, pulled it out and carried it to the heavily smoking grill. IT DIDN'T SWITCH ON! Do not trust these devices with your life!

In my case using ceiling screws there was not enough space to mount the smoke alarm. A simple solution was command strips (mostly double-sided tape). Voila! Glue to the ceiling and you're done. When I bought the second one, I didn't even bother with screws. "It took less than 30 seconds to process. I wish it was a little louder, but it serves my purpose perfectly. Small, inconspicuous, big. I will be buying more soon.

At first I thought they would fit. We installed them after a mother and her children died in a fire where there was no smoke detector and when we checked we found we were missing too! There is no installation problem and the test button beeped. However when we tested the one we installed with real smoke, which I've read is good to do, when tested again this alarm did NOTHING, whereas the older existing First Alert model willingly sounded the alarm when first tested. I am changing my previous rating from one star to four stars. Although I had trouble attaching the smoke alarm to the base when the base was bolted to the ceiling, I eventually successfully secured it with double sided tape. It seems to work well and is an attractive little smoke alarm. The seller responded very quickly to my complaint about the device and offered a replacement or refund.
