Purchased from Revain in May 2007 it's now January 2015 and it's finally time to replace it. The only reason for replacement is that the mechanical pump has become very inefficient. One pump filled a tea cup and 1.5-2 pumps poured a coffee cup. Now, just over 7 years later, it takes 30 taps to fill a cup. In theory I could replace the rubber seal, but it's hard to find and not worth looking for. Also, specifically for my unit, I can say that the mechanical pump mechanism itself fails, so even if I replace the gasket I don't get the 1-2 pump performance I had before. But it was a great bargain and if I couldn't afford the more modern electronic pumping mechanisms I would definitely buy it again. The service was basic. It was used all day every day from arrival until a few weeks ago when the pump failure became unbearable. The decalcification was carried out irregularly, at best once a month. At first my roommates taunted me about the purchase, but they were all converted within a few months. It has become indispensable in the kitchen, both for dispensing water for drinks and for cooking. Aside from a visibly torn rubber seal and dents in the pump mechanism from over 7 years of transport and rough handling, the unit is in excellent condition. In fact, it can still be used, although pumping out the water takes a little practice. So I'm going to donate it - maybe someone can fix it or even use it as is. The exterior is intact, not even worn from all the knocks it has endured. The color is a tasteful off-white with hints of brown and pink, so it goes well with most kitchen decors. The floral print is not too sharp and understated. The handle is rock solid - you could probably use the device as a flail and not worry about the handle breaking while your enemies cower and tremble at your feet. It is also very energy efficient as the electricity used to keep the water at a given temperature all day is equivalent to the energy used to heat water for 12 coffee cups from cold to hot (unless you will consume). 12 cups a day for the whole family, consider a smaller size) Overall - highly recommend. However, be aware that the mechanical pump mechanism will fail and may be fixed by replacing the gasket. Also keep in mind that seals are hard to come by, at least for now. This will likely change in the next 7 years, so you probably don't need to worry about that if you're buying one today.
