Do not attempt to disconnect the permanent connections to the HVAC system (top of the "Y"). Simply peel off the protective cover and cut as close to the ends of the welder as possible. Use regular screw clamps to attach this new welder. To mount to the engine, use a slightly longer 5/8" radiator hose (approximately 3.75" to 4"), another screw tie to connect the splicer to the short hose, and the stock clamp to fasten the short hose to the to attach the engine. Even easier, buy a Dorman #47238, throw away the welder (it's flimsy) and use the hose and clamps that came with it. All ready for about $19 and maybe 45 minutes of your time. Probably less if you're on hand! Better to buy the assembly from the dealer ($100) and install it (another $300). I just got $381 for a 45 minute job! You have to quit your day job and just install those welders that break people every 50,000 miles! Much luck! Health!
