ATTENTION TO THE BUYER! in Power Tool Parts & Accessories

I purchased this drill bit and matching 6-48 tap to install two Picatinny rails on two undrilled 870 Police Magnum receivers. I used my Wen variable speed drill for both the second hole and the lowest possible speed to initially follow my punch mark rather than rolling off anywhere. Once caught, the bit was neatly cut in half. Then I went to my local Ace hardware store and got two #31 bits, both from Irwin. I proceeded to drill and cut the remaining eight required holes without incident. To be honest I was expecting a little more from the Century bit and maybe a little less from the Irwin options, which led me to buy two from Ace. The Century bat is complete junk, cast iron; Look elsewhere if you don't want to stop in the middle of a job to get a $3.69 replacement part. Good luck and happy drilling!
