Review on 🌟 10.2 Inch Touch Screen GPS Navigation Stereo for Toyota Highlander (2014-2019) with SYGAV Android 10.0 by John Hall

Such a great product and almost no documentation

For 2008 Highlander Sport with JBL Amp and Sat Nav. There are hardly any installation instructions. Plastic bike tire changing tools are great for ripping off parts of the dashboard, starting at the top derailleur and ending at the frame with the air vents and a small screen. With all of the above sections removed, first remove the two fan assemblies from the top vent and small display bezel. You can do this with a kitchen knife or some picks, working around all the tabs until each tab snaps open. These two vents are then easily inserted into the product's modular replacement cushion. The OEM metal bracket holding the old navigation head unit and small screen needs to be removed and replaced with the OEM small screen only. Next I connected all the connectors so that they matched. For the rear camera, I had to connect the included brown RCA connector to the back of the main unit as shown in the manual; Then connect the yellow cam-in connector to the marked junction of the product's canbus. For the new GPS and included antennas, I fished them through a hole to mount in the glove box ceiling. I made sure everything worked before putting the block back in place. Since the OEM fitment of the emergency turn signal for Nav is different than the base version, I have ordered a simple emergency turn signal assembly and will install it when it arrives. The fit and finish of the large plastic frame is good. performance at the moment. When an iPhone is connected and BT is set to auto connect, the UI will appear in CarPlay for the first few minutes in the car. I haven't tried setting up native apps on the head unit yet. So far I'm relatively happy with the overall product in CarPlay mode. The main non-working aspect is that the rear speakers work but are connected to the balance control in the front. The product's gain controls for EQ and speaker balance work in all respects, except they cannot be balanced with the rear seat speakers. After receiving the original emergency button assembly and requesting support for powering the rear speakers, I will update this review. It would be SO EASY to update the documentation and ask someone to make a good YT video for each model scenario. Before making this decision, I received offers from several local car stereo installers. No one will touch Android devices made in China; I recommend older technologies like Sony and Frontier. Really amazing that I can pay $617 for it and install it myself instead of paying $1500 and getting a smaller screen and no Android OS features. Very strange gap in sentences.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
