Review on Sabrent 8-in-1 USB Type-C Hub: HDMI (4K) Output, 3x USB 3.0 Ports, 1x USB 2.0 Port, SD/MicroSD Multi-Card Reader - 4K/Power Delivery Support by Bill Wasson

I read mostly positive reviews for this USB hub, but give it a mixed review because it works on my new MacBook Pro with High Sierra (MacOS 10.13.3). I was thrilled to get this hub because I was upgrading from a MacBook Air with two standard USB ports and I wasn't sure how to get on with the new USB-C ports on a MacBook Pro with all the ones I was using peripherals would work. I hooked it up to my laptop, hooked up an external monitor via HDMI, and plugged in a remote clicker USB dongle to see how it would work for presentations. After a few seconds, I noticed strange behavior from the laptop. Powerpoint freezes and the Chrome web browser stops displaying pages and gets stuck on the "Allowing host" message. down in the bottom status bar. I disabled the hub and everything worked. I rebooted, tried again and got the same behavior. I've done this several times with different configurations and always had problems within minutes. This bothered me because the main reason I wanted the hub to have something to plug into while presenting at work was so that the powerpoint lock wouldn't get in the way of a good presentation. I contacted support and to their credit they sent me a replacement right away with no questions asked. I received it within a few days, connected it and unfortunately had the same behavior. I contacted support again and they said there is a known issue with wireless devices, so it might be an issue with my remote clicker. I can't risk using this hub if it might interfere with the presentation, so I just leave it plugged into my external monitor's HDMI cable and use the Apple HDMI dongle for my presentations. So it works great but it's not what I wanted when I got it.
