Works Electronics

This is the best solution for hub lengthening. If you have the right extension cord and can power the hub from its own power input, you can power up to three SSHDs from this hub. I've tried more but with three it's pretty stable. Mechanical drives draw power from the center, so just one mechanical drive will ruin your game.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Finally something that works

I have a 2016 MacBook that doesn't have a regular USB port, just a USB-C port, small with an oval edge. When I hesitated to buy it the Apple salesman said no problem, you get a connector and you can plug in any regular USB peripheral you like. NO! Using other ports, something worked well, something was slow, something didn't work at all. And no device or plug I've bought has ever allowed me to connect a peripheral device AND charge my computer at the same time, even if the plug had the…

  • Easy install

When using it's ok, just a little file transfer

I mainly use this to download 20-90GB from my micro sd card, it overheats during file transfer and disconnects from my Mac. So now I just transfer 1-3GB for each session and repeat that for the next batch. Wait a bit if it feels warm instead of fully transferring 20-90GB files. Problem? Yes, but good for the money I paid for it. If I ever need to transfer a large file (>20GB) I'll have to go back to my old and more reliable Apple USB C + USB Micro SD Multiport Adapter from Sandisk.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • For a long time

Worked great when I finally had it!

Apparently there was some confusion in my original delivery as I received Toyota hubcaps instead of this USB hub. Once sorted, I was happy with this hub. I got a MacBook Pro 13 from work. Apple made the decision to only provide two USB-C ports, meaning essentially everything needs an adapter or hub to connect to (I don't really understand their logic. While I understand, I disagree). This little hub has worked well for me so far to do what I need. I've used it to connect a mouse, power supply…

Causes erratic behavior on my MacBook Pro

I read mostly positive reviews for this USB hub, but give it a mixed review because it works on my new MacBook Pro with High Sierra (MacOS 10.13.3). I was thrilled to get this hub because I was upgrading from a MacBook Air with two standard USB ports and I wasn't sure how to get on with the new USB-C ports on a MacBook Pro with all the ones I was using peripherals would work. I hooked it up to my laptop, hooked up an external monitor via HDMI, and plugged in a remote clicker USB dongle to see…
