I have a 2016 MacBook that doesn't have a regular USB port, just a USB-C port, small with an oval edge. When I hesitated to buy it the Apple salesman said no problem, you get a connector and you can plug in any regular USB peripheral you like. NO! Using other ports, something worked well, something was slow, something didn't work at all. And no device or plug I've bought has ever allowed me to connect a peripheral device AND charge my computer at the same time, even if the plug had the appropriate ports to do so. Not even an expensive Apple connector. did it for me So I gave up. When I came across an ad for the Sabrent connector I'm writing about, it was quite expensive, but the description was enticing, so I took one last chance - AND IT WORKS! For example, I can plug in a microphone and my charger and they both work. I can back up my computer to an external hard drive and charge my Mac at the same time. And backups are much faster than other connections. So it's been more than a few weeks and so far I'm very happy with the work he's doing for me.
