Doesn't that remind you of the toys they had with all the needles and you could customize them to fit your face or something? What happened to them? Anyway, I do a lot of DIY projects around my house and one day I replaced the big floor in my bedroom. It was such a hassle to cut the bottom to fit the doorways! My head is spinning when I remember how we did it. This tool makes tracing shapes that need to be cut much easier. I will be using it to install door sills as I have skipped it due to many issues with the shape of the door opening. The little one in this set works better than the big one. The larger one is a little "stickier" and stiffer when pushing the pins back and forth.
