Took me 15 minutes to remove the old lock and install the new one. The day before my delivery I received an email from Hu Tu Tools with PDF instructions - I followed the instructions and within minutes I was up and running. The instructions were very clear - the only problem I had was having to go to my desk to reread the instructions and making mistakes on my part - when I followed the instructions it was great. It took me longer to remove the old lock than to install the new one. I changed the auto-lock from the default (99 seconds) to 30 seconds and made sure it worked. Luckily the lock fitted my existing lock hole perfectly - I didn't have to cut anything, gouge it out or anything like that. MY door is 1 3/4 inches thick and it worked great. I tried locking and unlocking the door several times because I didn't want it to be locked, and when I was happy with the result, I only then locked the door. and let the latch lock. The dark bronze color matches my door perfectly. I will add more codes for the rest of the family and make a copy of the lock pick in case the battery dies and I get locked out. I've been trying for months to buy one to unlock/change codes remotely, but I chose it because a) low cost b) I don't need remote access for my primary residence. It may not be suitable for holiday homes or Air BnB where you need to add/remove codes from the remote control - you need to be at the lock to add/remove/change codes. It takes 4 AA batteries - time will tell.
