If you're buying these grinders it's probably because you like using a lot of salt and pepper but don't want to hand grind them all the time. Choppers work GREAT with new batteries. However, I have to change the pepper batteries about every time I need to fill the pepper tank, which is very small, about once a month. At 6 AAA each, this makes this product quite expensive to maintain. If I had to do it again I would try the rechargeable ones or the ones with AA batteries. If you don't use as much pepper or salt but want a quirky and fresh car style, these work great.
