Review on 🐼 Panda N600 Dual Band 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter - Windows/Mac/Linux Compatible by Jeff Alradwan

Linux compatible Ralink 5 GHz adapter; Slower than PAUO6 with 2.4GHz High Gain Adapter

This (PAUO7) is arguably the best 5GHz wireless adapter you can buy right now that is 100% compatible Linux compatible. Unfortunately, one cannot say that this product is error-free. The great thing about wireless Panda adapters is that they all have Ralink chips. Ralink develops and maintains GPL drivers for all of its products, which are built directly into the Linux kernel. Before proceeding with the review, I would like to note that I live in a remote area so there is no interference in the 2.4 or 5 GHz spectrum, which allows me to get the maximum throughput from my wireless devices. I warn you that this particular model gets very hot. , very fast. It takes a lot of power to get anywhere near the advertised speeds, although don't expect much more than 150-200 Mbps when using this on a desktop computer. If you use this with a laptop, you won't be able to get more than 5MB/s (40Mbps) transfer rates, which is the same for 5GHz and 4GHz, because the USB ports on laptops can't fully power them. . Potential. This may be slightly different if you're using a laptop with USB 3.0 ports, but I don't have one. Don't buy it if you use it mainly for 2.4GHz connections, as it actually offers worse performance (about twice as fast) than the previous model (PAUO6) with a high-gain antenna. However, it will overheat after a while and can cause random shutdowns. Port- Can only reach 40Mbps (5MB/s) when used with a laptop due to power issues. Reaches up to 150Mbps when using a USB port on a desktop computer. Overheats and causes random shutdowns, about half as much - only buy if 5GHz is needed
