Review on 🎢 External USB Sound Card - CREATIVE Sound BlasterX G6 by Keisuke F Kuga ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best offers, glad I bought it.

The sound is, frankly, awesome. First I connected Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z, for which the card was bought. There is not much to say, because everything is awesome. The sound is very clear, bass is good, highs and mids are excellent. I also tried to listen to mp3 320 - not at all, although before that I thought that in principle it was possible to listen, but I just don’t want to listen to lossy on such a bunch. Then, for fun, I connected the old inexpensive Audio-Technica ATH-AD300. Of course, there is almost no bass in them, but in the middle and highs, even on them you can hear that the sound has become better. Before that, I had a rather old Asus Xonar DX internal sound card. In general, I liked the Creative G6 and I recommend it for purchase. Although the product is not perfect, it performs its main function with a bang. I use it for a short time, if something else comes up, I will add a review.

Pros
  • Excellent sound quality. Great headphone amplifier. The card does not pick up interference/interference from the PC. Before that, I had experience with Crearive AE-5 and it caught interference from the GPU inside the PC, tried a lot - nothing helped, which is why I parted with it very quickly. Simplicity and minimalism. The kit includes an optical cable. There is a light on the lid and a light on the wheel. Who does not need it, you can turn it off - and that's good.
Cons
  • Build quality. The microUSB connector is shifted relative to the case cutout for it by a whole millimeter. Looks disgusting. I wanted to go back to change, but I tried to carefully plug in the usb cable - it seems to be included. Well, I think it works well. But, of course, in a 7x10cm box, messing up with the centering of the board is something you have to try. The microUSB connector itself is no longer very relevant. Could also plug usb Type-C. The volume wheel is crooked. But it is more for appearance, I will not use it much. I also consider it a minus that they did not install a simple power switch. The card just doesn't have it. Again, such savings on elementary things are incomprehensible. For example, I sometimes charged the phone from the PC when it was turned off, my motherboard is good, the current gives out decent and the phone charges well. And now to the sound. the card was not powered on 24/7, and it heats up when it is on, I have to de-energize the USB ports when the PC is off (via the BIOS). Also, in the minus, you can specify the complete wires that come with the card. If your card will stand approximately more than 1m from the interface device, then immediately look for another cable.
