Review on Enhanced Motorcraft YH1624 Damper Door Switch for Improved Performance by Kenny Kowalewski

This is the second time I have purchased this part for my 2006 Ford Focus. The first time was via Rock Auto but this time I needed Revain's speed of delivery. Little did I know when I first replaced it that the rubber seal/bleed selector lug had basically deteriorated into a gooey mess that didn't allow me to change the bleed. Therefore, when replacing a part, it broke almost immediately because of an attempt to move the handle from the defrost mode to another position. My solution (thanks to YouTube) was to pull the radio and drill into the vent box, cut out the sticky dirt. , clean and patch. I may have missed some junk because it's still a bit sticky, but the new switch works great. Installation is relatively easy, just slide out the dashboard to access the air controls. It's a bit difficult to reach for the plate to tie it down as it's under the steering wheel and to the right. But it's still not terribly difficult. Overall very happy with this detail and finally able to change the vents after two years of defrosting.
