I used 99.3% tin 0.7% copper solder and the wick didn't wick anything. It could have been an issue with the quality of the solder and the material of the wick, but there's no indication that it should only work with a specific solder. This is the first time I've tried using a solder wick and from the videos I've watched it should work much faster than this stuff for me. On the few occasions it did start absorbing solder, it took a good 30-50 seconds to remove even a decent amount of solder from the board and because I left the iron on for so long it started to erode the board to put fire. and the flux that this thing is coated with. Made for an absolutely miserable experience.
