Review on 🐠 Super Silent Hpumps Aquarium Air Pump for Fish Tank - High Efficiency Oxygen Breathe Water Air Pump with Filter, Air Stone, and Tube by Julie Bauer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal solution for very small applications

This company has been very nice and accommodating to me, I owe them a long overdue review! I needed a tiny pump to squirt water into bowls in the hermit crab habitat, about 7" x 6" x 3" deep plastic containers (I fill them to a depth of about 2") without the jar or the pad to spray the dishes. . Another requirement was that the pump should run as quietly as possible. The first pump I ordered didn't work. It worked for about 20 minutes and then shut down. I let it cool down and tried again, same problem. The company had already emailed me ahead of time asking me to leave a review on their product, so I replied with a problem. They asked me to send it back directly to them in China instead of sending it through Revain so they can assess the issue. Well I was in a hurry so I started the Revain return process and in the meantime ordered a second pump. Same problem. As I had not yet sent off the first return, I contacted the company and this time followed the instruction to send BOTH pumps back to China. They were REALLY concerned about returning faulty pumps so they could assess the problem. I thought the process would take some time, so I was surprised when I got a new (third) pump straight away! Both defective pumps were also promptly returned via Revain and the day after I emailed my China shipping receipt I received my Revain credit. The third pump works great. It sits on the side of our 65-gallon tank and is virtually silent (we hooked it up to a timer, which made more noise than the pump!). The Airstone produces very small bubbles and by fitting an inexpensive divider and flow control valve combo I was able to control the speed so there was no splashing outside the water bowls. The pump came with a rock and I needed a second one for my second water plate. I've tried several different stones and none created bubbles as small as the original (even at low flow rates the larger bubbles would burst and spatter). I contacted the company and asked if I could purchase the Airstones separately; You can't buy them, but they kindly sent me some for free. The tubing that comes with the pump is translucent, soft, and flexible. It's a bit short, but I run it pretty far through a 65g tank, so I'm sure it will work for smaller tanks. I bought a second clear hose from my local pet store for my second water bowl, but it's not as flexible as the one that came with this pump. We used the pump for a month with a tube/stone in a bowl of water attached to a timer that ran at 30 minute intervals several times a day. So I can't say how it will behave when running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non-stop, but I tested it and let it run for several hours with no problems. We've had it out for a while since we started the rebuild and had to keep moving the tank and unplugging it so I put my review on hold in hopes it was all done, but I'm only going to update once everything is ready. Yet again. In summary, this pump is a great solution when you need a very small, quiet pump that isn't overkill for a very small setup (like a cockatiel, a goldfish, or my water bowl).
