The device I received may have been defective. It was quite loud (humming/noisy), much larger than the 10 gallon Tetra Whisper pump I was planning to replace with it, which has the typical low hum of an air pump. It also had significantly less airflow. I returned it for a refund (simply thanks to Revain's consistently painless returns process).

Failed the first time - I tried two, the first worked for about 1/2 hour then gave up - the second worked for more than about 10 hours and then gave up. It seems like a great product - quiet - small but. ****** UPDATE ****** Alright, I was contacted by the excellent customer service team at this company and they replaced both units and now both are working great. I have to thank this supplier for being so hardworking and interested in customer satisfaction! More companies should follow suit and

I have had several air pumps over the years and this one is in a league of its own. For everyone else I had I had to wrap myself in towels to cover them. This almost dead man is silent; It is really incredible. I especially like that you can attach the pump to the back of the tank with a suction cup; small ball air stone is also good. I don't use this pump to aerate my aquarium, but to circulate/mix the water behind my 3D background to avoid stagnation. It creates the perfect amount of bubbles…

I was tired of Tetra pumps failing after a month or two of use, but I was nervous that I could only rely on such an underperforming pump to get the job done to do with both the foam filter and air stone in my daughter's 2 gallon tank. I then came up with the idea of connecting two of these pumps to the same valve and adjusting the flow to the air stone to a steady stream of tiny bubbles and venting the rest of the pressure through the filter's venturi. Two months later it's still working great.

This company has been very nice and accommodating to me, I owe them a long overdue review!
