I only burn for about 5 hours in flashing mode. The solar entry box is smaller than other solar strings I have had in the past. I'm assuming the battery doesn't hold that much charge. I have the sun in full sun and face south. It gets around 8 hours of direct sunlight at this time of year, which should be enough to fully charge the battery. It's getting dark around 4:30 p.m. and all the garlands are ready by 9 p.m. If I could get closer to 8 hours of battery life I would be happier. I was hoping to get more light time with a shorter light than other strings, but with such a small solar array this seems impossible. I wrap them around my mailbox next to my driveway so I can find my driveway easier at night. I love all the different lighting modes you can choose from.
