I try to avoid using the central heating and rely on oil space heaters. I purchased this one for my bedroom and I was doubtful as to how much it would heat that space (I keep the bedroom door closed at night so the cat doesn't walk on me--it's a long-standing problem.). The first few night I used it, I woke up in the middle of the night because I was hot and had to turn it down.
