I have been a welder most of my life although I am now retired. I have welded Mississippi ships (3 years) and trains (23 years) as well as many other international projects and refineries. I have found Forney welding electrodes to exceed my expectations and I recommend them for any application be it home, farm or commercial. I have found the rods to flex well at various settings and there are few issues with sticking and they work in a nice continuous puddle that is easy to control to look both solid and good in all positions . I have never used Forney welding rods as employers always provided their grandfathers' "old time standards" and was very pleased to take the chance with the cheaper Forney rods. Even if the prices were up to the old standards, I would continue to choose Forney rods for the strength, lightness, and appearance of my welds.
