We have a two story house and the WiFi signal from the Xfinity Gigabit Router barely reaches the master bedroom, master bathroom and living room on the ground floor. Installing a NETGEAR AC1900 as a range extender quickly fixed the problem. Speeds are a bit slower (as expected), but signal strength is strong and connectivity is no longer an issue below. I'm pretty good with computers but setup was easier than I expected and the One WiFi Name feature works. I could buy a second device for my parents house just to make things easier - they always forget to go from router to router as they move around the house, but I wouldn't want more than $250 for one spend dedicated mesh router system when everyone what they need is a powerful wifi extender.
