Offer at this price! Worth it at any price if needed.

When I saw this refurbished power strip for $59.99 I decided to buy it. The construction requires patience, but everything worked out great. I bought this to extend my WiFi to where it hangs and crashes upstairs in my house. I used WPS mode to automatically configure my current CenturyLink dual band router. No problem, but I worked for Centurytel Internet Customer Service. So I'm an above average user. That being said, if you assume the gear is ready to go as soon as it's powered, you're one of

Great for extending your Wi-Fi

I had to move my Wi-Fi router to our basement and our signal dropped on all our devices. After adding this, our devices were able to get a much stronger signal. I recommend giving the extender a name that is different from your router's SSID. I just added "_ext" which makes it easier to figure out which signal is which. The interface is easy to use and I was able to set it up very quickly. You may need to place it in different locations in your home to get the best possible connection betweenโ€ฆ

Even better than advertised.

We have a two story house and the WiFi signal from the Xfinity Gigabit Router barely reaches the master bedroom, master bathroom and living room on the ground floor. Installing a NETGEAR AC1900 as a range extender quickly fixed the problem. Speeds are a bit slower (as expected), but signal strength is strong and connectivity is no longer an issue below. I'm pretty good with computers but setup was easier than I expected and the One WiFi Name feature works. I could buy a second device for myโ€ฆ

Worst company I have ever dealt with

I installed the extension cord as instructed. Followed all instructions. Nighthawk app login failed. Can't find clear instructions anywhere. Forgot password didn't help. I called support. The Indian technician didn't know what to do at all. Tried to submit items and also told myself the device is 15 months old so it won't work. I tried to explain that I couldn't log into the app but he couldn't help it and hung up. Thanks for wasting $50 and 2 hours of my life. Update: After the guy hung up, Iโ€ฆ

Crashes multiple times after 12 hours

Expander mode crashes multiple times after about 12 hours. Not recoverable by Power Cycling. The only way to recover was by doing a forced factory reset and then reprogramming. Couldn't even connect. It's clear that the Netgear device has failed since I was able to connect to the main hotspot. One day I was able to connect to it, but it wouldn't connect to the internet. Another time when I stopped broadcasting, I couldn't connect. Both times the status light was green. It was a restored blockโ€ฆ

No real MESH and 33% failure rate.

I bought three of these items. One broke right out of the box. The failed device was not sending internet to another device even though it received a strong signal. This allows devices to connect to it, but they cannot access the internet. I've hard rebooted the failing device at least 6 times and gone through the setup with notes on how exactly I set up the other two working devices, but still couldn't stream the internet. It's not real MESH, it can't be because it shouldn't be. Because MESHโ€ฆ

Atenna and Extender generated Bodacious signal

To: NETGEAR, my message to Jasmine, I don't know if she will ever get my message, but I had to post my experience with NETGEAR. To: Jasmine, NETGEAR Technical Support. By: Roy Zank. One is in my home office and the other is in our carpentry shop, which is used primarily for browsing the web to look for carpentry plans, projects and tools.
