Generally a good hood for the price. I will use a well known brand hood like Miller or Jackson for the job but this will serve more than one purpose for your DIY or hobbyist. The hood is light but a bit thin. The auto-dimming lens is comparable to a Lincoln lens for home use, but what would you expect as I'm pretty sure it's made in a third world country, probably China, by slaves who cost 0.17 cents earn per day. As for the headgear, it's a bit cheap, but looks to me like a replica of Miller's earlier design that's easily accessible if it ever needs replacing. I bought mine 3 months ago and use it several times a week with no problems. I would buy it again if needed or recommend it to a friend without worrying about turning it into an enemy.
