Nothing beats the weight of good metal to express the essential character of a device. This brass pencil sharpener has a solid feel and coupled with a quality blade makes for an amazing product. I bought a round double sharpener. I'm tired of crappy plastic sharpeners and their cheap blades that don't sharpen my pencils well. Normally I would almost sharpen the tip and then it would stick and the lead would break. Then I have to sharpen again and repeat the process. This brass sharpener won't bend like plastic sharpeners. Also, it has a sharp/high quality blade that does the job well. Additionally, the blade is meant to be a true replacement, so do yourself a favor and purchase replacement blades ahead of time and you'll be glad you did. Pros: Considerable hand feel. High quality/sharp blades that can be swapped on the sides provide great feel and spin. Cons: Smaller than they appear in the photos, a small issue but that's the only negative I can say. I have big hands so it caught my eye.
