We didn't need the chic curtain rods from Schmanti because they hold small blackout curtains. They're hidden, so looks don't matter, they're weak, flimsy, and just plain unnecessary. There is a plastic sleeve that centers the smaller bar inside the larger bar. It is VERY loose leaving the bars sloppy and sagging after installation. The ends of the rods were not cleaned after cutting, some had metal splinters. They had to be deburred, and in one case I had to grind the end to actually fit the pin in the hole. Several of the spring mechanisms that hold the pen in place were bent in odd directions. I had to bend them to align the contacts. If I'm paying for a finished product that needs to be ready to use, it should be ready to use! They are badly and sloppily made. They will work, but I wouldn't hang anything heavy on them and would be willing to put in some work.
