Installation will not be as easy as you would hope

I think the inserts were developed because I thought one would do for a standard door and it probably is. But if you're hoping to go through a wall, you'll need at least 2 or even 3 depending on the thickness of the wall. I ran 2 doors through 2 different interior walls and each project required 2 extensions as well as lots of hardware and careful gluing. For some reason they build them so the 2 liner doesn't go all the way through the standard inner wall when fully seated so glue was required to get them about half seated, another option is to use a 3rd liner (which makes it quite difficult). . expensive cat door if you stack 3 liners and one door) and trim that liner heavily: it's probably better to trim two of the three liners a bit. However, the main disadvantage of the design lies in the placement of the anchor. screws for the door. The upper holes are too close to the tunnel. No lag screw or even a wood screw in the frame holds that tiny gap between the hole and the doorway. I could use standard expansion bolts in the bottom holes, but I used latches in the top holes, which were likely only caught on one side. Not only are the pre-drilled holes so close together, they are small, requiring reaming to accommodate even a 1/8" screw, the smallest lever available.
