Review on Lite-Flite Baseball and Softball Machine by JUGS by Chris Hamim

Revainrating 5 out of 5

GREAT EDUCATIONAL TRAINING TOOL - Top quality pitchers at the price of a full size unit.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter who really wanted to get better at softball. I did a lot of research on other products/systems as I didn't want to spend a lot but also wanted something that would last if she continued to care about softball. It was also difficult to give her enough practice time in team training etc. Construction: This is and looks like a Jugs machine. The construction is strong with no corners cut off - this thing will last for years to come! The engine is powerful, stable and quiet. Stability: Once you dial it in, it launches balls into the hitting zone more consistently than a full-size machine. I am a bit nervous. This is a better practice ball than full size softballs! You get great feedback on contact with no tingling etc. When my daughter lines up the ball the ball takes off. Also less/no fear of being hit. Ease of use: The machine isn't lightweight, and be prepared to put in a bit of effort setting it up - but once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal. Aggravation. The machine is permanent enough that you can usually set it up fairly quickly once you've set it up. It has a wide powerband, so you can go from fairly slow to fairly fast by turning the dial. I haven't bothered with the curved ball/slider settings as my 6 year old doesn't see any of these in game but I have no doubt that he is quite capable of giving that look. Cons: Weight - I find it comfortable to carry around, but if you have mobility or strength issues you may need the help of a second person. This is the ONLY downside. Bottom line: My daughter has gone from being a mediocre striker to one who rarely misses the ball and can hit it powerfully. This is a great investment if you have one or more kids who love softball and want to practice more. You can place it in your yard without fear of breaking windows, and you can easily take it to your local ball court if you have a power source.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor issues
