Purchased to replace blown door speakers in a Blazer Xtreme. It's not my daily driver so I didn't want to throw a lot of money into the system. There is no amplifier. Only directly from the head unit. To be honest I was surprised at how good they sound. It would sound better if I powered them through an amp. My doors are built into the closets, that helps a lot. Pretty efficient. Fairly clear sound at high volumes, but like ALL speakers, they get dirty if they're pushed too hard. Keep in mind that this is a D series. Kicker makes the lowest tier and is very reasonably priced. This is not Focal, RE or JL. Don't expect sound to change your life.
