Aside from the badly dented box and the slightly bent metal yarn holder/guide piece (which I was able to easily bend back into shape), the yarn winder was easy to assemble. There are no instructions. , but it wasn't hard to figure out how to use it. All told, I've already wound four 590 yard skeins of 3 dk at 5.3 ounces quickly and efficiently. This is my first yarn winder and I am very impressed with how easy it is to use and how well the skeins are wound. I am very happy that I no longer have to twist the yarn into balls. I give 5 stars for how well it works. I am not deducting the stars because the package was crumpled upon delivery.
