Review on Blackstone 1813 Tabletop Griddle Stainless by Joel Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You can use it for every meal!

I bought it for a camper, but now I use it a lot at home. It's great for breakfast, on everything from pancakes to bacon to sausages and even eggs (if you quickly remove the eggs from the grease separator the first time you pour). I've made toasted sandwiches and quesadillas with it (a hit on a winter hike). For dinner, it's great in fajitas or smash burgers (see, once you've made a Guga Foods smash burger, there's no other way to make it). Clean up is easy if you season it right. I just turn off the fire, let it cool for a minute, then splash some water on the surface and use a metal scraper to scrape it all down into the grease trap. Then I spray it with a tablespoon of oil and wipe it off with a paper towel. The whole process takes me about 3 minutes. I've used mine at least 100 times and it still looks pretty clean. My only complaint is that it doesn't get as hot as my friend's Camp Chef pan, so steaks don't brown very well. (But it's much more efficient on my RV). While it distributes heat well, my corners aren't as hot as the center. Not a big deal for most things, but you just have to be careful. In the end, it's just more versatile than a grill, and there's no room for both in my RV, so a winner. I bought an adapter so it would work with a regular 5 gallon propane tank instead of small Coleman tanks.
