This grip was perfect for my late 90's dome. It rotates 90 degrees clockwise to open and counterclockwise to close horizontally. You can lock it in any position. Mounting holes are 1-1/2" apart on center. I used rivets to attach it so it would be more difficult for someone trying to "penetrate" it to remove. The inner shaft is hair ( literally thin hair) under 5/16" square. The inner shaft was longer than originally in the dome, but I was able to cut it down to size. Sorry for the messy picture. I'll scrape off the green around the grip before applying silicone.
