Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhance Your Gaming Experience with the Wii Component Video Cable by Rahman Lassiter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overpriced but works great

If you've been playing console games for a while you're used to overpriced accessories and the Wii is no exception. Proprietary SD cards, proprietary adapter component cables, $20 for a nunchuck, etc. If you're willing to pay a premium for a first-party warranty, this cable is for you. After using the Wii for months and having to crawl around the entertainment console every time we moved it (it's a hit at family reunions and other gatherings), I decided to try a different AV cable. So all I had to do was unplug the console and leave the A/V cable (power adapter and sensor bar much easier to unplug and pack) while we were out. I highly recommend this if you often take your Wii with you when you travel. If you choose to do this, you can also purchase a component cable. It's not HD, but it looks better than the regular 480i. I was comparing the difference between my 50" Panasonic TH-50PX80U (720p) and my parents' 50" Pioneer PDP-5080HD (720p) and although it does smooth out the lines and make the overall picture clearer, from standard to high definition. If I showed you different pictures a week apart, you might not be able to tell the difference. When we travel and use composite cables, I don't realize it until I look for it. However, if you're staring at an image for hours, it's probably worth 12 hours. % of unit cost to make the image look its best. You can go the 3rd party route but I should know it works and looks good rather than wondering about the quality of this $10 universal cable. It's a little annoying that you can't connect audio and video ends the same way you would with a composite cable, but this is easily remedied by looking for extension cords at your local audio store, or by running the signals from the TV to a receiver Guide : Most new TVs have a digital or optical output and almost all TVs have a composite output. I haven't had any signal degradation from tying the cable behind the TV, but I keep it away from the rest of the cables so that might help. I also had to tighten the connectors, but all good component cables I've bought are the same. If you don't take them off every week, just be glad they never come loose. As other reviewers have pointed out, the Wii doesn't automatically switch to 480p when using this cable. You have to toggle it manually in the Wii settings. It goes without saying, but make sure your TV has a free component input and can display 480p. Stay home and travel with Composite. Cons - Overpriced - You can only slightly separate the audio and video connections. Conclusion: I would buy again.
