Reliable colored pencils are held by gravity only

Hello everyone! My name is Aspen, @Paraslider on Twitter, I'm an artist and animator going to college this year and I want to say I've been using them for 2 years now and they still work great. There were some issues with the paint itself, which I'll get to later. In the meantime, I'll start with a brief introduction to how these buttons work. Posca pens are well known for their use in graffiti and street art, so the tips of the pens are pretty much made to go through the mangle. As long as the surface you're walking on isn't *too* jagged like a broken brick or something, you can expect the pen to last a while. What, as they say; If you intend to use them on any type of paper, expect the paper to curl. Shedding is the result of the pen tip being so abrasive on the surface of the paper that it breaks the paper surface/tooth. It won't ruin the paper in any way if it's watercolor paper or heavier weight paper, but printer paper will never be perfect for this. The way to activate them is pretty simple: you just press the pen against the surface until the color fills the pen and alternate between shaking the pen (with a cap of course) and rocking the pen like crazy, until you get a nice, clean color, even stroke. However, let it be known that you will be shaking these knobs a lot. I don't want to downplay it in the slightest. You will spend a lot of time shaking these pens. If your party is extra fussy, even the clock. When I tell you that I spent over an hour or two shaking and shaking my hands, especially for the second artwork, please trust me. Once this is done you should be able to swim smoothly. If not, all I can do is refer you to Casey Golden's Posca Handle YouTube video for troubleshooting and tips. For the sake of clarity I describe the processes behind each of these artworks as the size you are working on and the material of the surface matter. very.1- The first painting (side profile of my OC, gray background) I could only do with this set of 15 pens and it was my first experience with it towards the end of 2018. Watercolor paper, 7x7 size in inches if I remember correctly, and yes the paper curls here and there. This was by no means a distraction or a serious lack of markings and everything went perfectly. It's like the shavings of an eraser, and if you like the texture the scrub creates, feel free to keep it to yourself! If not, it's very easy to wipe it off after the paint dries. As you can see, a lot can be done with just base 15 markers. If you're up for a challenge and can work with a limited color palette, this set will get you far. The colors are opaque when dry and, as expected, very bright. The coating, especially with size 3M, is really pleasant, it lies evenly and matt, there are no streaks. Poscas are known for their ability to create flat, smooth blocks of color. So if that's your thing, you'll love these. on a 16x20 inch canvas and it was completed about a month or two ago. It's clear that I've expanded the number of colors here, and you can buy Posca pens in a variety of colors on Amazon for relatively cheap if you buy them in packs. However, individual pens tend to be much more expensive and laborious, e.g. B. $6 to $10 each. In contrast to paper, the surface of the canvas showed no signs of pilling and was much smoother overall. It took a while to get used to the surface of the canvas, but it was still a really fun project. Other than troubleshooting all the issues I had to do. I am sure that this applies not only to posca but to all drawing pens in general. I wrote that at an angle and the canvas was on the easel. Due to gravity, you might expect some of your grips to work. They appear to have dried out or streaked, but that's just due to the orientation of your canvas. This can usually be fixed by shaking the pen and shaking it, but I'll admit that some nibs just don't want to join in even after a while. Some may remain watery, others may remain streaky, and some may simply die off, in which case I suggest a substitute. For example, the navy blue and solid blue colors here were really spirited, but after some deep, conscious, therapeutic thoughts like, "Gosh, please let me finish this before they die inside me," I was able to pull through. Do not throw away your pens because they show signs of use as there is a chance they may still work/can be restored. TL:DR; These pens are effective for any artist of any skill level, but they're not perfect and have some drawbacks. The orientation of the pen and your canvas affects the flow of paint. You won't typically see these issues with most of your pens, but some of your batches may have them from time to time. They are excellent for color rendering and produce stable light tones. However, they're definitely an investment, so consider how you're going to use them and if it's worth the cost. They make a great gift for any artist or creator!
