I made my barn door from 3/4" thick pine boards and used 3/4" thick slats on both sides of the door. Then I installed the door handle. and found that the mounting screws were too short :{ So I went to my local hardware store, ship suppliers and then to Lowe's and Home Depot to find that nobody had screws that were long enough. The quality of these pens is excellent. It would be nice if longer screws were included. I still buy screws.
