Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Bass Demand and Amp Up Audio System Performance with BOSS Audio Systems CAP8 - 8 Farad Car Capacitor by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Might be long but if you want a real review, here it is!

Let me start by saying that I have ALWAYS provided an honest and unbiased review here and everywhere I post a product review! So here is my analysis of this Boss 18cap, 18 farad capacitor. General? A+. CURRENTLY. Let me point you to some hard facts about this product. #1. Any beginner or consumer of professional car audio or electronics will understand that this is NOT 18 farads. it is actually closer to 5-8 farads. You can test it with any meter you like, but the way they are built (hybrid capacitors) is a combination of a standard 2-5 farad hardness cap tied to an additional PCB with 8 separate high voltage bus caps , which are very similar to these have been found. in Brazilian amps nowadays. I'm not an engineer but basic exp. It so happens that the board allows the main capacitor to exceed its normal storage capacity by having these smaller capacitors charge it up much faster, creating a virtual bank of standby power on cycle. #2 Don't be fooled. If you've owned a Power Acoustik pcx30, a Planet Audio 20f, or a few others that "similar" to this one (look at the connectors, not the outer case) then you're right, YOU OWN IT! This is the same cookie cutter design, including circuit board and voltage indicator. One thing that sets this apart from the rest is that THIS 18 cap uses MUCH LARGER stiffening caps than ALL of the others! This 1 factor makes it SUPERIOR compared to other clones. The capacitors themselves are almost the same as the 4.4 and 5 farad Rockford capacitors, which were phenomenal. So there are 2 of them to control the build. Now for power. I am a master builder and have been for 20 years. Capacitors have their place in audio IF USED RIGHT!. *A NOTICE. If you are trying to get a stock Acura Integra to work with a real 5,000w amp at 4 15 (roll your eyes) please exit this page, visit your local alternator dealer and upgrade your electric equipment to 300A or higher. Your big three are ready, so put some XS batteries behind the relay! This won't help you!* **NOW. If you're in my boat, (example) I have a 2020 Honda Crv that is covered by an impressive warranty and ANY modification to the stock electrical part will void my entire warranty unless Honda installs it. I can ADD what I want, but I can't remove anything. The Honda CRV comes with a standard 90-120 amp alternator, but the electrical part is serviced with less than 1/3 of that. I'm using 2 Rockford T2d212's (1000 RMS each) and a Brazilian 3k amp (tested at 3375 RMS into 2 ohms) and an active EQ and crossover. I did the big three and all the OFC 0 sensors took a backseat. My tension was 12.4 at rest and 14.4 while riding. Without the cap I could hit some mid-bass notes (those that need 45-55Hz voltage) and in the light I could almost drown out the car if I was at 1/2 pitch. However, a generator was not an option (no guarantee). I have tested several of these hybrid caps, as well as the ones above and a few others. This is the only one that came in handy!. In this case, my resting voltage is 14.5 and the operating voltage is 14.7. I can sit on a brake light when the lights are on, the AC is on, the 1/2 tilt system, the bass knob is turned up, the windows are pounding, and every car around me is BESSING and my voltage CAN reach 13. Never go under 12 unless I won't explode. sub. Last thought. WE HAVE A WINNER. Great design. small footprint. supplements the AC power required to run my system without violating my warranty. Look no further. start here You will not be disappointed. ***MAKE SURE YOU LOAD THE CAP FIRST!****
