I'm not a carpenter but I replace my deck's flat surface myself. I saw a video on You Tube showing that using it on the corner points of the deck board recess (bypassing the support columns) gives a nice rounded edge. I thought it would be neater and easier, so I figured out what I have to lose and took the bit. It works well (a bit intimidating at first). I'm not a power user but it does what it says on the tin and looks pretty damn near indestructible to me (didn't break and I'll have it for next spring when I finish the remaining 1/4 of the remaining long deck boards ). Happy with the purchase.
