Received this drill press today and used it to drill a hole in my front door to install a peep hole. The drill produced a very clean hole on both sides with no chips or kickback.
When first used on a drill, saw that the tip wobbled when the motor was turned on. When this drill hit the workpiece, it shook the entire drill. I put a dial indicator on it and it showed about 0.030" of runout near the cutting edge. The sharp tip can also be off-center, which can make it worse. Obviously defective and returned immediately. Bought an equivalent Bosch bit. Works just like silk, no vibration.
I'm not a carpenter but I replace my deck's flat surface myself. I saw a video on You Tube showing that using it on the corner points of the deck board recess (bypassing the support columns) gives a nice rounded edge. I thought it would be neater and easier, so I figured out what I have to lose and took the bit. It works well (a bit intimidating at first). I'm not a power user but it does what it says on the tin and looks pretty damn near indestructible to me (didn't break and I'll have it forβ¦
