I needed this device because the tether was jamming the gas cap and preventing easy refueling. It can be installed by changing the turnbuckle itself or in place of the turnbuckle chain. I used it the second way because I didn't want to change the turnbuckle. It does the job. With this device, my wife can refuel her truck without a wrench or other tools. She can do it herself.
