Review on πŸͺš WEN Variable Detail Sander 6307 by Vince Preston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

best mower sharpener

Sharpening mower blades dulls the file. The grinder doesn't let you see. With an angle grinder you can see, but the speed (150 mph) makes it difficult. It can be inaccurate and require the effort of realignment. The edge doesn't stay very sharp. I suspect that a wheel spinning at that speed could overheat the thin edge. At top speed my sander scrapes at 20 mph so there is much less risk of the edge overheating. The belt is much cheaper to replace than the file. When I start sharpening, the polished steel shows when I'm level with the bevel. Pausing to feel the ridge along the edge, I paint the polished steel with a marker. This will be visible when the grinder is realigned with the bevel. It also shows all the indentations. My blades are sharper than new. Everything stayed in balance. After mowing an acre, the blade still feels sharp enough to peel an apple. Spring clover juicy. Depending on the season, other plants can also be succulents. Juicy fillets are sticky. They accumulate below deck. The mower also does not work and this leads to corrosion. It can resist the hose. I had to raise the mower to clear the deck before removing it. I would have to stop mowing to tip the mower and scrape the growths. I don't usually need to clean the deck before putting the mower away. If necessary, I can even mow wet grass. Some leaves were easy to mulch with a mower. The oak leaves resisted. The pieces are too small to drown out the grass but big enough to look dirty. By cutting oak leaves into smaller pieces, a sharper blade can make them disappear. I attached the crossbar to the post. I lay the blade on the board so the edges overlap slightly, then pound a few nails into the holes to keep the grinder from pushing the blade back. I can put a stone in the middle. This is faster than with a table and chair, but has a greater advantage. The board is twelve inches below eye level. It's easier to maintain the angle at this altitude and I can observe up close. The thickness of the steel divided by the width of the bevel is the sine of the angle, so the angle can be found using calipers and a calculator. When the ratio is half, the edge is the default 30 degrees. Update: This system works great with shredder and pruner blades. I screw the chopper knives to the rail.
