I am very impressed but would like to use shorter probes.

I am a Kona farmer who only grows coffee for my own consumption and gifts. However, since I store about 100 pounds of parchment coffee each year, getting the moisture content of the coffee beans right is important to me. I got it on a trial, but at $90 it's a steal compared to "coffee" moisture meters, most of which are between $150 and $300. be inserted into hay bales so that the probes are almost a foot long. I would prefer about six inch probes or maybe interchangeable probes to allow testing of smaller samples. I solved my problem by cutting a foot long 3" PVC pipe and capping one end. I fill it with grains, stick the dipstick in and get a reading almost instantly. I got a real one at a neighbor's Borrowed and compared a coffee bean tester. The accuracy of this device is exactly the same as the others. Multiple tests on the same batch of samples give exactly repeatable values. I am very confident in the accuracy of the readings. If I were to buy a meter, I would rate at least 50% save and get an accurate gauge.

Pros
  • MULTIFUNCTIONAL: The new design moisture meter with wide probes is suitable for determining the moisture content of many materials such as wood fiber, grain, hay, straw, bran, traditional Chinese medicine and other FIBERS. Materials. Due to the large working range, the probe type sensor can measure the depth of the material.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
