Review on Lisle 12390 Dual Drive Oxygen Sensor Wrench: A Versatile Tool for Efficient Sensor Maintenance by Ashwin Patel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It costs more but it's the best.

Stumbled upon this tool while looking for help on how to remove the oxygen sensor on a 1998 5.7 liter Chevy exhaust after driving over 252,000 miles without taking it apart. Without writing a book about my automotive career to justify my admiration for the quality of this tool and its ability to extract the O2 sensors apparently welded on by rust/corrosion, let me just say the price is double the price and it will still be the best. value there. Why? Due to the accuracy of fit, the hole milling is precise and precise. No wobble means no shearing of the corners of the O2 hex nut under maximum force. The 1/2" 90 degree angle (straight from the side hole) allowed me to use a 6" extension and 24" pipe (on top of the extension) to apply some serious force and even the worst O2 started spinning immediately. The 3/8" top hole is a real bonus for getting the O2 out in those tighter applications and screwing in a new one without excessive torque. No wobble at 3/8" holes, I liked it.
