I am retired Electrical Engineer and this is my 2nd level 2 charger as first unit,s display failed although it continued to charge. This is a way better built product with cables 30% larger.There is blatantly false review posted here about some home inspector confiscating this charger. Maybe a competitor spreading lies. These units are UL and CEL approved. They’re is no way to determine wire sizes inside cables unless you cut them open. The cables here are thicker than a 50amp rv cable. The max current for a #12 wire is well over 40 amps, and based upon cable size I estimate these are #10 stranded wires which are rated over 50 amps.This unit uses much larger cables and control electronics than my previous charger. Very high end built quality. Brass , maybe plated exposed screws for corrosion resistance, rubber end cap for string outside. Nice accessory’s like hanging hooks. Not the cheapest unit out there but worth it in my opinion.PS. Charging speed is NOT controlled by these types of unit, but by the cars electronics. All any of these charges do is monitor and report on the current used, and this one has integral timer which most electric cars have, as well as a current limiting function which is really not necessary as cars won’t take more current than they are designed for.
