I installed this on an 18 Forester Touring with telescopic sight. OEM front rotors warped with 75% pad life remaining. That's what happens when companies use CVT transmissions. There's no engine braking to slow you down. In any case, the standard combination sometimes led to unpleasant brake noise and a lot of brake dust. Which according to the dealer is normal for his brand. I'm a mechanic and have been using akebono pads for over 22 years with no problems. These pads have the same dimensions as the original pads. You may see reviews starting with spaces at the top and bottom as if the pad in the spacers is too small. If these reviewers had looked at their factory settings, they would have seen the same thing. The reason I love these pads is that they stop just like the original pads but are virtually dust free. That makes everyone happy. Every ceramic pad squeaks when the car has been left overnight or when it rains. This is due to rust on the brake discs. Any rotor gets rust immediately since it's bare metal. The longer it sits, the longer it takes for the rust film to come off. Coming back to solving the problem of warping due to the CVT transmission and the lack of engine braking. To save on the brakes and improve braking a bit I use full slotted rotors (slotted to the brim) or cross slotted/regular slotted rotors and Akebono pads. Hope this helps someone. Remember that akebono makes original pads. So the pads are of good quality.
